Free from Indwelling Sin Roman 8
8 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who[a]do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
Good Morning. Those who choose Christ Jesus have a great reason to be thankful to God. All people in this world are under one of these two laws, the first is the Law of Sin and Death and the second one is the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus ! All sin has a penalty for the bible says in Romans 6:23 ” 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” This is a law of God, not man’s law it cannot be changed. God being sovereign can do whatever He wants. God set forth the rules for man’s behavior and all mankind broke them! The wages for sin in Romans 6:23 is the second death spoken of in the Book of the Revelation chapter 20. So mankind breaks God’s law and is condemned! But that is not the end of the story, there is a second law we see here in our text and this is the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ. This law brings no condemnation to a person who is under this law, as a matter of fact a person under this law he is treated like he never sinned at all because under this law his sins are forgiven and washed away! This law treats a person like he has obeyed all the rules of God and has not broken any of them! So instead of God condemning the person under this law, God condemns his sin by sending Jesus Christ to save him and placing his/her sins penalty on God’s only Son and the person receives the gift of eternal life! There are no clearer words in the bible that show us our need for Jesus Christ! One can be under this second law only as he/she receives Jesus Christ personally as Lord and Savior confessing their sins to Him! Have you believed and received Him? The Narrow Way Matthew 7
13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 [a]Because narrow is the gate and [b]difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Good Morning. The narrow gate that leads down a path is one that Christians go down for it leads to life (eternal). The broad (wide) gate leads one down to destruction and many in this world are on this pathway. It is a pathway that is worldly and sinful, it is popular but not godly, it is a pathway that accepts sin as normal and rejects good! It is a path that is self gratifying and self centered, it has the mindset of : “if it feels good do it”, denying what God put forth in His word! That gate is very wide and very popular and a lot of people live to be accepted by this crowd. Now on the other hand the narrow gate that leads to eternal life has one narrow entrance and Jesus is that entrance He stands opposing the views of the broad gate which is sinful. Jesus even gave His life for the one’s that travel on the broadway but they reject Him. Jesus in the gospel of John 10 is the Door in which whoever enters is saved…..! In Acts 4:12 puts it like this:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. We as Christians can thank God through Jesus Christ for drawing us to the narrow gate! God bless.Love in Christ, Terry April 9, 2021
4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not [a]puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, [b]thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.8 Love never fails ……. Good Morning. Here are some of the finer features of love. Love has great patience and endurance and shows a friendly sweet spirit (kindness). Love does not desire the things of others but is happy for others to have them. Love does not need to be seen by others does not enjoy drawing attention to itself to display pride. Love has good manners and never shows unkindness. Love is not selfish but cares for the feelings of others more than themselves. It takes a lot to make love mad. The mind of love does not think of wicked or evil thoughts. Love does not have joy in iniquity or sin but is glad and happy in the truth of God. Love can carry a heavy load without complaint. Love has great trust and faith in God and its hope never diminishes. You may have a little different understanding on love than what I have stated but we all know that love conguers all and never comes up short. The greatest example of love to be displayed is when someone lays down their life for someone else as Jesus did on the cross of Calvary for you and me! The Risen Christ, Faith’s Reality 1Corinthians 15
15 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He was seen by [a]Cephas, then by the twelve. 6 After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have [b]fallen asleep. 7 After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. 8 Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.
Good Morning. The gospel of Jesus Christ is made perfectly clear here as the Apostle Paul declares its content. Jesus went to the cross and died for our sins according to the scriptures, and He was buried, placed in a tomb, and on the third day, Jesus rose from the tomb according to the scriptures! How do we know that this happened? According to our verses today we see that Jesus was seen after his resurrection by Cephas (Peter) and after that over 500 people saw Him. I believe that is the infallible proof of Jesus’ resurrection. James seen Him and after all of them Paul the Apostle (verse 8) seen Jesus as bright as the noon day sun on the road to Damascus and it changed Paul forever! How about you and I and the millions like us who have seen Jesus in a spiritual sense and He changed our lives forever? As the old Hymn says: “He lives, He lives Christ Jesus lives today, He walks with me He talks with me along life’s narrow way……He lives within my heart”! Has He changed your life? God bless.

He Is Risen Matthew 28
1Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. 2And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. 3His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. 4And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.5But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6He is not here; for He is risen,……Good Resurrection Morning. What more can be said “He is not here but has RISEN!”No greater news for mankind could ever be heard.God bless, Terry April 4, 2021
Pilate Sets a Guard Matthew 27
59 When Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 60 and laid it in his new tomb which he had hewn out of the rock; and he rolled a large stone against the door of the tomb, and departed. 61 And Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting [o]opposite the tomb.62 On the next day, which followed the Day of Preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees gathered together to Pilate, 63 saying, “Sir, we remember, while He was still alive, how that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise.’ 64 Therefore command that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest His disciples come [p]by night and steal Him away, and say to the people, ‘He has risen from the dead.’ So the last deception will be worse than the first.”65 Pilate said to them, “You have a guard; go your way, make it as secure as you know how.” 66 So they went and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone and setting the guard.
Good Morning. Now Jesus was dead and placed in a tomb, a tomb that was given by a person named Joseph of Arimathea. Can you imagine the sadness and sorrow felt by Jesus’ followers as they witnessed His death and now He was placed in a grave? Their hope was probably gone. Jesus had told them what was about to take place, His death burial and resurrection, but they like us did not understand and sorrow filled their hearts, BUT SUNDAY WAS COMING! Mary Magdeline and the other Mary Jesus’ faithful followers were watching the tomb. It makes me wonder if they were anticipating His resurrection? Death cannot contain our Lord,He is life! The chief priests and Pharisees made sure the tomb was secure as they asked Pilate to place guard over the tomb and sealed it. The guards made sure no one could tamper with the tomb, because the penalty under Roman law was death if a prisoner escaped! Jesus will pick His time when He wants to leave the tomb and we will celebrate that monumental Day tomorrow as Resurrection Sunday, the Day Jesus tasted death for every believer who ever walked the face of this earth! And because He lives we will live also! Love in Christ, Terry April 3, 2021
Jesus Dies on the Cross Matthew 27
45 Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land. 46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
47 Some of those who stood there, when they heard that, said, “This Man is calling for Elijah!” 48 Immediately one of them ran and took a sponge, filled it with sour wine and put it on a reed, and offered it to Him to drink.
49 The rest said, “Let Him alone; let us see if Elijah will come to save Him.”
50 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.
51 Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, 52 and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; 53 and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.54 So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!”
Good Friday. Words cannot express the agony Jesus suffered as He dies on the cross for our sins! A lot can be said about the order of events that took place on this the last hours of Jesus’ life here on earth. After His arrest in the garden of Gethsemane, He went before the High Priest Caiaphas who charged Jesus with blasphemy. A mock trial and false witnesses were brought in. Then Jesus was handed over to Pontius Pilate the Roman governor who washed his hands of Jesus’ punishment because he found no guilt in Jesus. The people wanted a killer to go free named Barrabas and they were asked what to do with Jesus and they shouted “crucify Him”! Judas, Jesus’ betrayer took his own life as he returned the 30 pieces of silver to the Jewish leaders. So now we continue as Jesus is placed on the cross. Darkness took over from the sixth hour (noon) until the ninth hour (3PM) all over the land. Jesus suffering agony calls out to the Father ‘My God, My God, Why has thou forsaken Me”? Probably at that moment, Jesus took on the ugly sins of the whole world and the Father looked the other way! As Jesus gave up His Spirit and died several things happened. One the veil of the temple was torn from top to bottom indicating a new and living way to enter into the presence of Holy God and that is by the blood that Jesus shed on the cross! As you recall the veil separated the holy place from the Holy of Holies where the High Priest could enter once a year into the presence of God to atone for the sins of the people with a blood offering. The second thing we see here happening as Jesus died was an earthquake and rocks were split! The third event mentioned here is the most fascinating and that is at Jesus’ resurrection the graves of the bodies of the Saints were opened they were resurrected and many appeared in Jerusalem! And finally we see that even the centurion and those that were with him guarding Jesus recognized the fact that Jesus was truly the Son of God!!!PTL! God bless you all as we observe this very special FRIDAY!Love in Christ, Terry April 2, 2021
Betrayal and Arrest of Jesus Matthew 26
47 While he was still speaking, Judas came, one of the twelve, and with him a great crowd with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and the elders of the people. 48 Now the betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “The one I will kiss is the man; seize him.” 49 And he came up to Jesus at once and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” And he kissed him. 50 Jesus said to him, “Friend, do what you came to do.”[f] Then they came up and laid hands on Jesus and seized him. 51 And behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword and struck the servant[g] of the high priest and cut off his ear. 52 Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will perish by the sword. 53 Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels? 54 But how then should the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must be so?” 55 At that hour Jesus said to the crowds, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs to capture me? Day after day I sat in the temple teaching, and you did not seize me. 56 But all this has taken place that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.
Good Morning.Judas, who betrayed Jesus gathered together a band of soldiers and officers from the chief priest and came to the garden of Gethemene where Jesus was and arrested Him. Judas acted like Jesus’ best friend as he greeted Jesus with a kiss (The kiss of death)! As all these things happened to Jesus He knew they would happen as written in the scriptures and Jesus had the power to stop these soldiers from arresting Him but like Jesus voluntarily going to the cross (for you and I) He let these men take Him. That power was displayed when Jesus said the words “I AM HE” and these soldiers fell to the ground (John 18:6)! Jesus also had the power to have 12 legions of angels to come to His help. Impetuous Peter pulls out his sword to try to stop these soldiers from arresting Jesus but Jesus had him put the sword away saying; “….For all who take the sword shall perish by the sword“! As Jesus was taken all the disciples fled. More tomorrow.

The indwelling of the Father and the Son John 14
16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another [e]Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.19 “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. 20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and [f]manifest Myself to him.”
22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?”23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
Good Morning. As Jesus was preparing His followers for His departure from this world through His death on the cross He told them these things. Jesus said soon he will be gone physically from this world and the world will not see Him anymore but they would see Him. Death could not hold Jesus. He broke the bonds of death and tasted it for every Christian and He lives today and we know that because He lives through the presence and power of the Helper (Holy Spirit)! Jesus says All who love Me and keep My commandments will be loved by the Father and Jesus will manifest (make Himself known) to them. They asked Jesus how will He make Himself known to His followers but not to the world? He told them that those who love Him and keep His word the Father will love them and both Jesus and the Father will make their home in the heart of those who love Him! Not Ashamed of the Gospel 2Timothy 1
6 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, 9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, 10 but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,…
Good Morning. The Apostle Paul is speaking to Timothy here and is reminding him to stir up the gift of God he received when he was saved. Fear is the greatest enemy of all who are saved and are called to share our gift that God has given us through Jesus. Paul is telling Timothy to not fear but have power and love and a sound mind and not to be ashamed of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ! That is good advice for you and me also because at this time the world could sure use some hope! Verse 9 makes us aware of the fact that sharing the gospel may bring some suffering and sacrifice our way as it did Paul. Notice here that God not only saved us but called us with a holy (set apart and serving God) calling not according to our human abilities but according to God’s own purposes and grace! Verse 10 is so amazing and gives us insight into life beyond this world and our death because of the one who abolished death and that is Jesus and He brought us out of the darkness into His marvelous light giving life and immortality! As we look ahead to Good Friday and the cross that Jesus died upon let us (Christians) see the hope of life that happened three days later when Jesus rose from the tomb! This should make us all to be stirred up for Him and not be ashamed of the precious gospel. God bless.Love in Christ, Terry Mar 29, 2021
