That I might know Him!

That I May Know Him - 6/4/2017 - Faithlife Sermons

But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. 8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain[bto the resurrection from the dead.
Good Morning. What did the Apostle Paul’s salvation mean to him? He was a devoted Pharisee in the Jews religion, he was highly educated, he was a Hebrew of Hebrews knowing the law very well, but Paul’s credentials compared to the knowledge of Christ he counted them as rubbish! All the things he did were contrary to Christ and when he met Christ his zeal to serve Christ was even greater than his zeal to serve the Jews. Paul again makes it perfectly clear that in Christ he found true righteousness which is by faith in God not doing the works of the law which makes a person look righteous! Furthermore, Paul was hoping to understand the power that raised Jesus from the dead, the fellowship with Christ in suffering, and be ready and willing to die for Christ if necessary. Philippians 1:21For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain”! Are we serving our Lord with this much zeal? God bless.Love in Christ, Terry  Mar 25, 2021
