Jesus Christ Our High Priest - Faithlife Sermons

23 Also there were many priests, because they were prevented by death from continuing. 24 But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. 25 Therefore He is also able to save [h]to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.26 For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, [i]harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens; 27 who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the people’s, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. 28 For the law appoints as high priests men who have weakness, but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son who has been perfected forever.
Good Morning. I do not know how many high priests Israel had, but all of them because of death were temporary. Also, the high priests had to be forgiven for their own sins before atonement could be made for the people! We see here in our text that God sent a High Priest that had no sin was holy and blameless and was eternal in nature who ever lives to make intercession for you and I who are saved! His name is Jesus! Death could not hold Him and His priesthood is unchangeable so therefore He can save to the furthest out-reaches of the world and save those who God draws to Him! Jesus was a perfect High Priest that did not need to offer sacrifices for sins because He offered Himself once for all for all time. You and I can always go to this Hight Priest and have our sins atoned for, do you know this High Priest? God bless.Love in Christ, Terry May 2, 2021 See blog: walkingwithjesusbyhisword.wordpress.com
