The Shepherd Knows His Sheep   John 10

22 Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter. 23 And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon’s porch. 24 Then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him, “How long do You keep us in [d]doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.”25 Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me. 26 But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, [e]as I said to you. 27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. 30 I and My Father are one.”

Good Morning. One thing is very plain to see in these verses and that is one needs to be one of Jesus’ sheep to hear Jesus’ voice! To be one of His sheep one must believe Jesus and then one can hear His voice, when that belief becomes real (at the new birth)then a person is born from above. The above Jews were not of Jesus’ sheep because they did not believe His words or His works. John 3:15 puts it this way: “15 That whosoever believeth in him (Jesus) should not perish, but have eternal life.” When spiritual birth happens one can believe the words of Jesus and hear His voice (He/she is tuned in) but those who do not believe are not one of His sheep and so His words are not believed or heard! One thing stated here that is certain and that is if one becomes a sheep, being born again then no one can pluck them out of Jesus’ hands! Because Jesus and the Father are one, no one can pluck them (Christians) out of the Father’s hand , that’s comforting! God bless.Love in Christ, Terry  May 6, 2021
