Faith Triumphs in Trouble Romans 5

6/25/17 Love of God Poured into our Hearts - Romans 5:5-8 - YouTube

5 Therefore, having been justified by faith, [a]we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces [b]perseverance; 4 and perseverance, [c]character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Good Morning. What does it mean to be justified? Here in our text we are told there is a way to be justified in the sight of Almighty God and have peace with him. The best definition for justification is to be made or declared righteous by God for one’s faith in the Lord Jesus. The reason for this declaration of righteousness is because as one places their faith in the Lord Jesus the shed blood of Jesus washes away their sins and Almighty God sees them no more, bringing peace with God! Now the person who places their faith in the Lord Jesus are given access into the grace of God. This grace gives the Christian the ability to live in this sinful world with the real hope of the promises of God and shine for Jesus regardless of the environment around them. Our ability as a Christian to stand by God’s grace in the face of opposition builds godly character and allows us to persevere as the love of God is poured into us by the power of the Holy Spirit, so we have hope in any situation!
