Walking in the Spirit Galatians 5
16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Good Morning. We see here there is a way to combat the lusts and sins of the flesh. We are to walk (conduct our lives) in the Holy Spirit and we learned previously that the way to conduct our lives walking in the Spirit is to LOVE. That is to love God and love people! Jesus said this in Matthew 22:37-40 that on these two hang all the Law and the prophets. In our verses, we see that there is a battle between the lusts of our flesh and the Spirit of God and these two are diametrically opposed to one another. This is where the free will of man comes in: do we choose to obey these lusts or do we choose to obey the Spirit through the Word of God? As a Christian with the Holy Spirit living in us we have the power to resist this lust of the flesh by choosing to be LED BY THE SPIRIT! Are we winning this battle for Jesus? God bless.
