The Whole Armor of God… Ephesians 6

14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,…..

Good Morning. Much more could be said of each article of the armor God gives us but I want to briefly touch on these;1. The belt of truth: God’s truth through Jesus , ( The Truth) is the only way we can be guided to understand real truth and that truth comes from the bible! (John 8:31,32).

2. Breastplate of righteousness: First of all we as Christians are made righteous in Jesus Christ, (2corinthians 5:21). We are to live in a way that glorifies our Lord. (Philippian 4:8)3. Feet shod with the gospel of peace: We should be willing to bring peace into any situation by sharing the Love of Jesus, the Prince of Peace! His gospel brings peace to the hearts of people. (John 14:27)4. The Shield of Faith: Our faith in God through our Lord Jesus is what shields us from this world’s evils and overcomes the trials of this life. (1 John 5:4)5. The Helmet of Salvation: This helmet puts our minds at rest knowing that Jesus has brought eternal salvation to us and He will never leave us or forsake us no matter what difficulty we may face. (Hebrews 13:5& 1Peter 5:7).6. The Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God: Where do we find our Lord? It is only through God’s Holy Word do we come to know and understand these things. It is the Spirit of God that gives us understanding of the Word of God, interpreting its truth to our minds and hearts! It is a sword because it cuts deep and penetrates into our very soul! It is two-edged, on one edge we find life and freedom and if we reject it we find judgment and death! (Hebrews 4:12) And we should always pray drawing closer to God and bringing Him into all areas of our lives!
